Im Spiegel der Katze: Kulturökologische Aspekte in Marlen Haushofers ‚Kinderbuch‘ „Bartls Abenteuer“

Die Untersuchung zu Marlen Haushofers „Bartls Abenteuer“ befasst sich vor dem Hintergrund von Jacques Lacans „Spiegelstadium“ mit kulturökologischen und anti-anthropozentrischen sowie anthropofugalen Gesichtspunkten in dem zum Kinderbuchklassiker avancierten Text. Die Hauptthese ist, dass sich im fremden Blick der Katze eine kulturkritische Sicht auf den Menschen offenbart. „Bartls Abenteuer“ weist ein kulturkritisches Potenzial auf, indem der Mensch im Spiegel der Katze sich als der Natur und sich selbst entfremdetes, zivilisatorisch wie kulturell gewalttätiges, unfreies Wesen erkennt.

This study of Marlen Haushofer’s “Bartls Abenteuer” (‘Bartl’s Adventures’) examines the cultural-ecological, anti-anthropocentric and also anthropofugal aspects in the text, which has become a classic children’s book, against the background of Jacques Lacan’s “mirror stage”. The main thesis is that the foreign perspective of the cat reveals a culture-critical view of humanity. “Bartl’s Adventures” has a culturecritical potential, in which the mirror of the cat’s view allows human beings to recognise that they are alienated from nature and from themselves, and that they are civilisationally and culturally violent and unfree.
