Selbstmord und Amor Illicitus in der Übersetzungsliteratur von Niklas von Wyle, Arigo, Albrecht von Eyb und Johann Sieder. Zu ,Eurialus und Lucrecia‘, ,Guiscardo und Ghismonda‘ und ,Amor und Psyche‘

Der Aufsatz befaßt sich mit Erzählungen der illegitimen Liebe von Aeneas Silvius (,Historia de duobus amantibus‘), Boccaccio (,Decameron‘ IV,1) und Lucius Apuleius (,Metamorphosen‘ IV.28–VI.24) und mit den frühen deutschen Übersetzungen. Es wird in dem Kontext der Einstellung des Mittelalters und der Renaissance zum Selbstmord versucht, die Variationen in der Behandlung dieser Todsünde in den Erzählungen herauszustellen.

The article deals with tales of illegitimate love by Aeneas Silvius (,Historia de duobus amantibus‘), Boccacia (,Decameron‘ IV,1) and Lucius Apuleius (,Metamorphoses‘ IV.28–IV.24), and with the early German translation of these works. Variations in the treatment of suicide in the tales are examined in the context of attitudes towards this mortal sin in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.
