Zu Form und Gebrauch des Partizips Präsens in der Geschichte der ostjiddischen Schriftsprache. Mit einem Ausblick auf das moderne ultraorthodoxe Schriftjiddisch Satmarer Prägung

In der vorliegenden Studie wird anhand zahlreicher Originalbelege aus der Zeit von 1815 bis heute die Geschichte des Nebeneinanders der zur Bildung des Partizips Präsens eingesetzten Formanzien -(e)ndik und -(e)nd im Ostjiddischen nachgezeichnet. Schwerpunkte der Darstellung sind die Chronologie des Vorkommens von -(e)nd, die Einteilung der ostjiddischen Quellen in Gruppen je nachdem, welchen Status -(e)nd darin besitzt, die syntaktische Distribution von -(e)ndik und -(e)nd in Texten, in denen die zwei Formanzien kookkurrieren, und schließlich das Wiederauftreten von -(e)nd, das im weltlichen Schriftjiddisch bereits in der ersten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts dem ererbten Formans -(e)ndik hatte weichen müssen, im modernen ultraorthodoxen Jiddisch.

The aim of the present study is to trace the the history of the coexisting formants used in the formation of the present participle in Eastern Yiddish, -(e)ndik and -(e)nd, based on a number of original documents from the period 1815 to the present day. The main points of the discussion are the chronology of the occurrence of -(e)nd, the division of Eastern Yiddish sources into groups depending on the status accorded to -(e)nd, the syntactic distribution of -(e)ndik and -(e)nd in texts in which the two formants co-occur, and finally the reappearance of -(e)nd in modern ultra-Orthodox Yiddish, after it had had to give way to the inherited formant -(e)ndik in secular written Yiddish in the first half of the 20th century.
