Construction didactics – key features of a language learning approach

In dem Beitrag wird ein didaktischer Ansatz entworfen, der auf den theoretischen Annahmen der Konstruktionsgrammatik (KxG) basiert und den wir als Konstruktionsdidaktik (KxD) bezeichnen. Im Unterschied zu bestehenden Vorschlägen, konstruktionsgrammatische Annahmen für das Sprachenlernen zu nutzen, strebt die KxD eine stärkere Verankerung in der Didaktik an. Entsprechend werden nicht nur linguistische Bezüge diskutiert und integriert, sondern auch Konvergenzen zu etablierten didaktischen Konzeptionen ausgelotet. Die Überlegungen werden abschließend in neun programmatischen Thesen zusammengefasst. In einem Folgebeitrag werden wir an einem konkreten Lerngegenstand illustrieren, wie ein konstruktionsdidaktischer Ansatz im Sprachunterricht umgesetzt werden kann.

In this article, we outline the key features of what we call Konstruktionsdidaktik (construction didactics, KxD), a language learning approach based on the theoretical assumptions of construction grammar (CxG). Unlike other attempts to adapt construction grammar for language learning purposes, KxD is explicitly designed as a didactic approach. Hence, we do not only consider linguistic theories, but also explore links and connecting points to existing didactic approaches. In this article, we discuss the concept of construction didactics from a theoretical point of view. In a second article we will illustrate how a construction didactic approach to language learning can be implemented in the classroom.
